Event Details
The Krewe of Bacchus Mardi Gras Parade is one of the best in New Orleans. Named after the Roman god of wine, Bacchus is a top super krewe boasting 33 floats like the Bacchasaurus, a giant dinosaur; the Bacchawhoppa, an equally large whale; and the Bacchagator, an enormous alligator.
In addition the Bacchus Mardi Gras parade will also feature marching bands, costumed revelers, a ton of beads, and so much much more. Bacchus is known for having celebrities appear as the king of their parade. Past celebrities have included Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Michael Keaton, James Gandolfini, Hulk Hogan, Val Kilmer, and Drew Brees.
The Bacchus Mardi Gras parade route begins at the intersection of Tchoupitoulis St. and Napoleon Ave. before heading down St. Charles Avenue, Canal Street, and ending at the Convention Center.
