The 2012 Krewe of Orpheus Mardi Gras Parade is the place to be for a huge, authentic, Mardi Gras parade experience. The parade route starts at Tchoupitoulas St. and Napolean Ave. before traveling down St. Charles, Canal Street, then ending at the Convention Center.
This music-themed krewe was founded in 1993 by famous musicians, Harry Connick, Jr., Sr., and Sonny Borey.
Past themes for the Krewe of Orpheus Mardi Gras Parade have included Cocktail Concoctions, Delectable Delights, and Signs and Superstitions.
Expect floats, stilt walkers, marching bands, and special celebrity appearances. Past celebrities at the Orpheus Parade have included Ann Rice, Whoopi Goldberg, Sandra Bullock and Glenn Close.
