Formerly Dryades Street, this Central City neighborhood produced Jazz legends such as Buddy Bolden, Kid Ory and Jelly Roll Morton. The neighborhood was flourishing, culturally diverse and home to African American, Jewish and Italian merchants in the early to mid-1900s. In the years since Hurricane Katrina, Central City has experienced a resurgence in business and foot traffic. The Jazz Market is a proud part of Central City's redefinition as a bolder and brighter place.
