Description
Equest Farm, located in the north section of New Orleans City Park, strives to provide a wholesome and aesthetically pleasing environment for the general public to enjoy the majesty of horses in an urban environment. Our mission, as custodians of the land, is to provide educational experiences to the citizens of New Orleans beginning at age 4 up to 104. It can be as small as visiting the horses at the stables to boarding a horse and competing at a national level in the USEF competitions for Hunters and Jumpers.
Through its Riding Academy, Equest Farm offers English hunter/jumper riding lessons for ages 6 and up, as well as the Little Bits early horsemanship program for children ages 4 to 6, summer and holiday horseback riding camps, Girl and Boy Scout badge activities, field trips and birthday parties.
Equest Farm also offers full-service boarding and training and the Tack in the Park tack shop and hosts LHJA-sanctioned shows and the annual Tails But No Black Tie grand prix fundraising gala.
