Description
OGSD is the hub for the many gender- and sexuality-related social, cultural, academic, and intellectual events happening on campus. Throughout the year, through brown bags, special events, workshops, and trainings, OGSD will encourage critical thinking about gender and sexuality on campus; address the ways in which gender and sexuality intersect with race, ethnicity, class, nationality, dis/ability, and religious identifications; foster within the University community a respect for and an appreciation of the history, traditions and cultures of LGBTIQA-identified students; advise and support LGBTIQA-identified students and strengthen the cultures and organizations that they create; and, work with students, student organizations, faculty, and academic and administrative departments to implement policies, programs, and activities to increase the number of underrepresented students that enroll in and graduate from Tulane University. OGSD seeks to ensure an open and affirming learning environment—free of homophobia, heterosexism, transphobia, sexism, and other forms of gender- and sex-based bias and discrimination.
The primary purpose of this facebook page is to share time-sensitive announcements and resources related to gender and sexual diversity at Tulane University, including happenings, news, announcements, and resources that are relevant to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, questioning, feminist, and allied communities.
