Description
Lindsey Vicknair is a Special Instructor who works with children with developmental delays and provides education to parents by helping them identify the developmental milestones their child needs to work toward. When a child has global developmental delay in the five domains (cognitive, communication, adaptive, motor, and personal-social), Lindsey will help the parent understand and learn to help the child to meet outcomes and goals identified. Therapy is provided in the child's natural environment and is done using a play based therapy approach.
Lindsey graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She holds a Speech Pathology Assistant License with the Louisiana Department of Education. She then went back to school where she graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with an MAT in Special Education - Early Intervention.
Lindsey is an Early Interventionist in St. John the Baptist Parish School System, and is a service provider in the Louisiana Early Steps System - a system that offers therapy services to eligible infants and toddlers age birth to three. She is also proficient in introductory level baby sign language, and is certified in CPR and First Aid.
