On February 15, 1947, Metairie Bank & Trust Company was founded by local businessmen in order for Metairie to take its place as a self-sufficient community. Metairie Bank & Trust Company was the first bank on the East Bank of Jefferson Parish and has operated continuously from Metairie since 1947. Metairie is an unincorporated township located on the western border of New Orleans. The bank operates a total of nine offices located throughout the metropolitan New Orleans area.
