the natural history of the five species of Louisiana irises, including current efforts to preserve them
the transition from wildflower to the latest hybrids
growing tips and garden culture of the irises
Patrick O’Connor has hybridized Louisiana irises since the late 70s and have registered over 70 cultivars with the American Iris Society. He owns Zydeco Louisiana Iris Garden, which sells plants online at www.zydecoirises.com. Patrick is an officer and past president of the Greater New Orleans Iris Society and a past officer of the Society for Louisiana Irises.
Location: Garden Study Center, New Orleans Botanical Garden in City Park.
